History
| Founded by the original Dibble Brothers (Eric and Colin) started out as bulk fertiliser ground-spreaders, working from a store at Te Mawhai, 11 kilometres south of Te Awamutu, in 1953. |
| Dibble Brothers moved to Te Awamutu in 1963 and the company expanded rapidly until it had stores throughout the Waikato. At its peak Dibbles had 52 vehicles on the road and 70 odd staff. |

| For a while Dibble Brothers continued with their bulk trucks carting lime on the road. But in 1981 they put them up for sale and Dibble Independent was born. They shifted to an old rail shed behind the present headquarters in 1984 and operated from there until 1997. |
The change from a co-operative to a business partnership came in 1997 when Geoff Dibble, Barry Stamp and Derek Smith bought out the other partners, to form Dibble Transport (1997) Ltd. Derek sold out his shares in the company in 2000. |
